Shorty Rant

March 2008 already!

Spring is here and with the season comes the inevitable spring clean. This year I’m focusing on more than cleaning out the closet. The winters in Alberta aren’t exactly merciful and over the past 6 months, the occasional snowboard day has been my form of exercise. I’ve started to realize that it’s time to shape up for the summer, but not only for the season – for life.

Spring ExerciseAs there was another candle on my cake this year I’ve started to notice that the ease I once had of losing 5 pounds is now somewhat tougher. I’ve also realized that as a shortie, add 5 pounds and it really looks like 10. The weight just has no place to go. It can’t go up, it tends to go down, but most definitely added pounds enjoy going sideways!

And so shorties, spring is here! Regardless if you’ve just received a dump of snow – it’s time to spring up! I’ve realized that at the end of the day, I’m the only one that can keep myself healthy. And so I encourage you to step up to the health plate and do the same. Join that gym, enjoy that spring walk – give something back to yourself so that you have the strength to give to others – both mentally, physically and spiritually.
